Tobacco Addiction
Researchers have found out that tobacco addiction is the hardest addiction to break. Tobacco smoking is a practice where tobacco is burnt and the vapors are either tasted or inhaled. Tobacco is the most common substance in smoking. It contains nicotine, which is the main cause for your addiction. Children and pets have reported nicotine poisoning from accidental ingestion of insecticides by adults and ingestion of tobacco products. Death usually results in a few minutes from respiratory failure caused by paralysis. Cigarette smoking is the most popular method of using tobacco; however, there has also been a recent increase in the use of smokeless tobacco products, such as snuff and chewing tobacco. These smokeless products also contain nicotine, as well as many toxic chemicals. Exposure to high doses of nicotine, such as those found in some insecticide sprays, can be extremely toxic as well, causing vomiting, tremors, convulsions, and death. In fact, one drop of pure nicotine can kill a person.Although we often think of medical consequences that result from direct use of tobacco products, passive or secondary smoke also increases the risk for many diseases. Environmental tobacco smoke is a major source of indoor air contaminants; secondhand smoke is estimated to cause approximately 3,000 lung cancer deaths per year among nonsmokers and contributes to more than 35,000 deaths related to cardiovascular disease. Exposure to tobacco smoke in the home is also a risk factor for new cases and increased severity of childhood asthma. Additionally, dropped cigarettes are the leading cause of residential fire fatalities, leading to more than 1,000 deaths each year.
Tobacco use kills approximately 440,000 Americans each year, with one in every five U.S. deaths the result of smoking. Smoking harms nearly every organ in the body, causes many diseases, and compromises smokers' health in general. Nicotine, a component of tobacco, is the primary reason that tobacco is addictive, although cigarette smoke contains many other dangerous chemicals, including tar, carbon monoxide, acetaldehyde, nitrosamines, and more. Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. The impact of tobacco use in terms of morbidity and mortality to society is staggering.
The agricultural product is often mixed with other additive, and then paralyzed. The resulting vapors are then inhaled and the active substances absorbed through the alveoli in the lungs. The active substances trigger chemical reactions in nerve endings, which heighten heart rate, memory, alertness, and reaction time. Dopamine and later endorphins are released, which are often associated with pleasure. As of 2000, some 1.22 billion people practice smoking. Men are more likely to smoke than women are, though the gender gap declines with younger age. The poor are more likely to smoke than the wealthy, and people of developing countries than those of developed countries. Let us try and find out why people actually chew tobacco
Tobacco gives pleasure and relaxation to people. When we were small as a baby, we use to cry. What did our parents do to stop us from crying. Confused? Here is the answer they use to put something in our mouth a nipple or a bottle and we use to calm down. It is the case with tobacco chewing. This method of putting something in the mouth and enjoy pleasure sits in our mind. However, when we feel depressed or confused we want something in our mouth the same way as it was when we were baby. This gives us a feeling of relaxation and diverts our mind from the problem. Whenever we crave something in our mouth, the simple solution is tobacco. When you link chewing tobacco with any other action, the other action will trigger cravings for smokeless tobacco and an urge to dip or chew. This linkage is called a conditioned response.
Here is exactly how this conditioned response gets "burned" or programmed into your unconscious mind: If you chew smokeless tobacco while simultaneously driving a car, your mind takes a mental picture of the tobacco and your spit cup in your hand, and links it to the image of the dashboard, steering wheel, the view out the windshield, etc. From then on, each time you drive the car, your mind fills in the missing part of the mental picture. It flashes an image of the dip or the spit cup in the hand moving toward your mouth, and you get a craving for smokeless tobacco. You're probably totally unaware of the mental picture of the smokeless tobacco, because it may only be at the unconscious level of mind. This is similar to the way that you are unaware of what you are seeing through your peripheral vision until movement draws your attention. In spite of being unaware of the smokeless tobacco image, the image is there, creating a craving for your next dip or chew.
The third reason is the fact that tobacco contains nicotine, which creates an addiction in you. Once you are addicted to nicotine you just cannot stay without it. It reaches your receptors if the brain and creates an urge for more. After you have been addicted to it. Your mind comes out of your control. Even if you are wishing to avoid tobacco, you will not be able to do so.
After knowing all these facts sure, that many of you would like to get rid of tobacco addiction but how to do this let us find out.
First reason for tobacco addiction is feeling of pleasure and relaxation. What you need to do here is be positive avoid things that can give you stress and depression.
